Save your Best Work for when Energy Levels are at their Peak

Determine your peak energy level, and then utilize it as much as possible.

What time of the day do you have the most energy?  When you are at your natural peak?  If you don't know, it's time to get in tune with your body cycle and find out.

Each of us have a different rhythm and must be familiar with the cycles that work best for us.

Perhaps you are a morning person, who rises out of bed along with the morning sun... maybe someone who really hits their stride mid-day; eg: when the sun is at its highest point so are you... or rather you're the proverbial "night owl" who gathers the most focus and productivity late at night.

Being in tune with your body, and knowing when your energy is at its peak, you have a great advantage when it comes to work.  You apply this advantage by scheduling your most important work around your energy cycle.

When it comes to creating task lists and setting priorities, there is often common advice doled out to "do the most important thing first" or "focus most of your attention on the items that will yield the highest return."  There is nothing wrong with these approaches, if they work for you, but they are nonetheless missing a critical ingredient -- your energy cycle and peak energy levels.

What if... rather than do the most important thing first, you did the most important thing when your energy and focus are at their highest peak?

What if... rather than sort your to-do list by items that yield the highest returns, you matched your listed up with the time of day and followed it in sync with your energy highs?

Success and personal growth comes from making accomplishments, no matter how big or small, and it only makes sense to identify the best times of the day when you can really accomplish what's in front of you.

Determine your peak energy level, and then utilize it as much as possible.

Don't worry about prescribe times of the day when others tell you you "should" be working on something... listen to your inner sage and focus on completing tasks at the time that fits you best.
