What's Done is Done. What are You Going to Do Now?

Anything you've done to get here is in the past -- it's done. The only thing now is to look at the future.

This is a story about the past and the present... A past where we've done things we're not proud of, and a present where we're dealing with the ramifications of those actions; or at least feeling the pangs of guilt.

Regardless of what led you to this point, the realization that you can't go back in time leaves you with only one question -- what are you going to do now?

As obvious as this, it is really important to pause for a moment and come to terms with the fact that this question must be answered, and nothing should distract us from answering that question.

What are you going to do now?

Feeling guilty does no good... wallowing in self-pity is a dead-end street;  Ignoring it may provide temporary relief, but it is neither a healthy nor wise strategy...

So, What are you going to do now??

The best approach you can take to discovering the answer to this question is to first block out all distractions.  The last thing you need is a ton of other thoughts coming at you.  Focus on the here and now and really think deeply about the question.

Next, seek advice... this can come from any source you feel most comfortable -- advice from your inner sage, advice from a friend or family, an internet search, wherever... you're just looking for options at this point.  You're focused and you're ready to make the best decision to answer the question about what you're going to do.

Ironically, it is not often difficult to find options.  Even now you may already know what you should do... it is just a matter of deciding that's what you're going to do and then, of course, going to do it.

If this advice sounds simple, that's because it is.  This, of course, doesn't make it easy... it just makes it simple.  And the reason is it is so simple is because we've reduced all the circumstances, all the surrounding questions, all the distractions, all the noise, and asked ourselves one straight-forward question:  What are you going to do now?

Again, anything you've done to get here is in the past -- it's done. The only thing now is to look at the future.

So before you fill your head with the thousands of possibilities that might happen down the road, just focus on the first step, which is to decide [all together now :-)] what you are going to do now.
