Keep Your Plans Where You Can See Them

When you see your plan in front of you, you are more likely to follow it.
What's your plan?  You know you have one.  And even if you've never formalized an actual life plan, you've kinda sorta had a rough idea of one.

Remember?  You shared the vision of this plan with Jimmy over drinks last night... you mapped out the details while in the shower this morning... you even saw yourself in action while stuck in traffic on your way to get to your day job...  Yep, you've got the whole plan all scripted out inside your head.

But that's a problem, isn't it...

Just because the plan is in your head now, what the guarantee it will be there tomorrow?  If the plan is only kept in your head, how will you ever engage others in it?  If the plan stays in your head forever, will it have a chance to become crystal clear or it will it turn murky and lost over time?

There's a simple solution to this y'know...  write it down.
Write your plan down on a piece of paper that you can keep next to your bed, or in your wallet, and look at each day.

Write your plan down in an email or text message that you can automate to send to yourself every morning.

Write your plan down in a document that you can print or send off to others.

Write your plan down in a blog post that you can publish out to the world.
Writing your plan down not only makes it feel more real, but, through any of the means above, you have something that you can actually look at.  When you see your plan in front of you, you are more likely to follow it.  You are constantly reminded of the details of your plan, because it is there staring you in the face.  You can't hide from it; you can't deny it.  And that is an amazing thing...

You want to have the plan where you can see it.  Ideally you want the plan where other people can see it to.  If it's not out in the open where it can be seen, the plan is less likely to be followed.  It can erode in meaning and, even if followed to some degree, the impact can be lessened.

At myinnersage.com, we are fans of simple solutions that can have significant life impact.

This is one of those solutions -- write your plan/goals/objectives/bucket-list down and keep them where you can see them!  Do this and watch how much more productive and on-track your life starts to become.
