Get in the Game

Are you ready to get off the sideline and get in the game?
The sidelines can be a fun place to be.  We get to sit on our ass and watch other people do all the work, mostly for our entertainment; and we don't have to think much, let alone break a sweat at all.

Depending on the skill level of those doing the work, aka the "professionals," we often pay big money to watch them perform.  And, when they're done, we go home with a little less money, a little less time, and nothing in our lives really changed.

Now, if we're talking about a baseball or basketball game entertainment, perhaps those factors aren't such a big deal...  But, what if we're talking about life? What if we're talking about your life?

The game of Life is not really all that different in concept... either you choose to play the game of Life, or you end up sitting by and watching life pass.  Are you willing to spend your money, or time, or life-energy, to others while you do nothing for yourself?

"But," you say, "The game is hard and I'll probably lose."  Well, its true that sometimes you win and sometimes you lose.  But losing doesn't not make you a loser.

Repeat, losing does not = Loser.

A loser is someone who never gets off the sideline.  Someone who never gets in the game.  If you're following your inner sage you know you must pick up the metaphorical ball and take a shot!

There are many ways you can "get in the game."   You can volunteer for a local charity.  You can read a book or watch a documentary.  You can make a call or write a note.  You can learn a new skill or practice an activity.  You can explore a new area or travel to a new place.

The common thread here is to take action.  Stand up, get off the couch, and get moving.... just get in the game.
